MASHAV’s Training Division conducts about 100 courses every year at its training centers throughout Israel, training some 2,000 professionals hailing from more than 100 developing countries in five continents. Most courses span three weeks and include lectures, field trips and professional visits.
MASHAV offers several types of courses: International courses in English open to applicants from all countries, regional courses in various languages aimed at providing a response to a specific need in a certain geographic area, and tailor-made country courses, primarily reinforcing our agricultural projects worldwide. Some of MASHAV courses are conducted in cooperation with international organizations, mainly UN agencies, along with aid agencies of other countries, with which we offer courses based on trilateral cooperation. Additional courses are offered in conjunction with large exhibitions and fairs conducted in Israel in important development areas such as agriculture, water and civil security.

International, regional and national programs, are conducted online year round, taking into consideration different time zones and geographical areas. They can be short-termed (1-4 meetings) or long-termed (5-15 meetings), and be conducted in In English, French, Spanish, Russian and Arabic. An online training diploma awarded following fulfillment of all the program’s requirements.

MASHAV’s Overseas Programs Division offers dozens of on-the-spot courses annually throughout the developing world. They usually span 1-2 weeks, and are conducted by MASHAV experts in coordination between MASHAV, the host country and the local Israeli embassy.
The overall purpose of the Agricultural Internship Program is to provide agricultural capacity building to interns from developing countries with the aim of developing an entrepreneurial spirit by sharing knowledge that will be later on implemented in their home countries. Some 4000 interns from 30 Asian and African countries take part every year in this unique eleven-month internship program which combines practical and theoretical training in the fields of modern agriculture including on the job training - learning by doing - with Israeli farmers who serve as the agricultural interns' mentors.

MASHAV sends experts in a wide variety of fields to provide specific tailor-made advisory services following requests of the host countries. Missions involve preparation of technical reports, recommendations and implementation programs, as well as assistance in program implementation and conducting surveys on particular topics.

MASHAV posts long-term agricultural experts who work with local authorities to develop the local agricultural sector by promoting activities aimed at increasing production and income generation, and tackling food-security challenges.
MASHAV's outreach lasts well beyond formal training by keeping in touch with its graduates through a worldwide network of ‘Shalom Clubs’. Established by the alumni in their respective countries, in partnership with the local Israeli diplomatic representation, the Clubs provide a forum to build firm ties of friendship and cooperation, to take part in professional, social and cultural events, and to exchange ideas and expertise for the benefit their communities. Courses graduates also maintain long-term professional contacts with MASHAV’s training centers in which they studied.

MASHAV’s extensive capacity building program in Israel and in partner countries is comprised of professional international, regional and tailor-made training programs and short-term consultancies based on a demand driven and holistic approach, in accordance with needs and requests of partner countries and in alignment with the 2030 Sustainable Agenda.
