International Collaboration on Building Resilience to Floods at COP29

At COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, MASHAV participated in a significant session titled "Building Resilience to Floods: Creating the Required Data Bases for Decision Making." The event brought together leaders and experts from various fields to address the global challenges of flooding through innovative approaches and international collaboration. Participants included representatives from the World Meteorological Organization, Israel Water Authority, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Netivei Israel, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, among others. Each speaker shared insights from their professional perspective on flood resilience, highlighting innovative solutions and data-driven strategies to mitigate the devastating effects of floods. The session underscored the importance of partnerships in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs), emphasizing the need for shared knowledge, advanced technologies, and cross-border collaboration to build resilient communities worldwide.
